You rude f*ck!!! What not to do at this Prospect Heights store
Courtesy of curbed's latest venture, racked.com, the Red Lipstick owner has put together a list of things that you should not do at clothing boutiques. Think of it as a FAQ for clueless (mostly female) shoppers.
A few choice bits:
- Size 8? Then why oh why are you bringing size 4's into the dressing room? Trying on clothing that's too small for you stretches it out, and sometimes pops the seams Yes, that means you, fatty!!!
- NUMBER ONE OFFENSE: Do not put your shopping or grocery bags or purse down on the merchandise! The owner of the shop has gone to a great deal of trouble to source, purchase and display those products for your enjoyment, it is very rude to place your filthy backpack that weighs 30 lbs on top of a table of new clothing or accessories.
- ust coming back from the gym or exercise? All sweaty? This is NOT the time to try on clothing. Go home and take a shower first. How would you like to try on something that smelled like someone elses sweat? Eww.

Please don't interpret my list to mean "Not you fatty". I NEVER said that, and I do not mean that. Women's clothing is delicate, and you need your CORRECT size, not one much smaller. ANd a size 8 is not consoidered a "fatty". Seriously. sigh
disclosure: the editor of this blog wrote Not you fatty.
sorry, but in a moment of weakness, i picked on obese people.
Ok then. :->
Wow. I am not obese and I was offended. I only half blame you for your rude comment. The other half of the blame goes towards the media for making people like you think that someone that is a size 8 is obese and should be fitting into a size 6. Just watch your offensive comments....I like your blog and want to continue reading it.
You can tell the shopkeeper to get over herself...
shopkeeper is correct though. she's handmade all her pieces, i believe and it would be a shame for someone to come in, think they were skinnier than they were and stretch out a small size..
it's all relative. don't be so sensitive. i could have easily said if a size 0 came in and tried on a size 2. there. relax. get over yourself...
Shopkeeper also charges $26 for a pair of socks. For that kind of money, I'll damn well put my athlete's-foot-infested, moldy feet in them.
