More on 70 Washington...this time, the cabanas
The Brooklyn Eagle continues its' series on the 70 Washington condos. This time, coverage is given to the rooftop cabanas that are going for $200K for a 546 square foot space. At $366 a square foot, this is pretty affordable rooftop space!
6 of the 22 cabanas have sold, according to the article (log-in needed). In another twist, two owners, who are 'stretched to the max on their mortgages' are teaming up to buy one cabana and share it. Interesting, no?!

DUMBO — Six of the 22 cabanas being constructed atop 70 Washington St. in
DUMBO have been sold, according to Toby Klein, who heads the sales and marketing
team for Two Trees Management Co., developer of the condominium conversion
project. “And we’re getting our offering price for the spaces,” Klein said.
The private rooftop cabanas, which measure 14 feet wide by 39 feet
deep, are 540-550 square feet and have electricity, running water and elevator
access, are selling for $200,000 each.
Klein told the Brooklyn Eagle
yesterday that several of the new condo owners, who are stretched to the max on
their mortgages, are discussing the possibility of purchasing one cabana
jointly.
“They are just now working out the details of who gets it when,” she
said.
Klein believes that they will sell quickly now because “we can
actually take people up there to see what they are getting.”
