Clinton Mews coop conversion

When we last heard about the Clinton Mews coops on Dekalb and St. James, we were wondering why everyone was selling their units. It turns out that the owners were renovating all the units. They are now being marketed by Elliman.

Prices range from the mid 300K's for 1 bedrooms to $800K for 2 bedroom 2 baths. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I used to live (a month ago) in Clinton Mews. I had a 2 bed 2 bath and in no way is it worth $800,000 in my opinion. It has a terrible super and good luck if you will find the 'security' awake at any hour of the day.
The neightborhood is pretty ok, its up and coming, but its on the edge of a really scary - not safe - part of town. Not that the 88th precinct being there was any day... my car was broken into 4 times in 1 month and I was mugged 3 times in the 3 years that i lived there! Not to mention that the sleeping security guard didnt wake up for my calls of distress after the man who tried to break into my apartment was running down the stairs and past him...
clinton mews is a not worth the money esp. for the neighborhood and the staff. You can find a nicer place in prospect park or a surrounding neighborhood.
Oh and the only train that is anywhere near Clinton Mews is the G train which runs every half a never.

Wow - I'm sorry to read about the experience "anonymous" had while living at the Clinton Mews. My husband and I have lived here for two and a half years and have been very happy. As that poster indicated, the G-train is less-than-ideal, but there is a bus that stops right outside the front door and has me at the 2,3,4,5 trains in 5 minutes.
We haven't had any issues with crime though we've spent much of our time wandering through the neighborhood, discovering great restaurants. I also get around easily via bicycle and car. The security staff changed since July '06 - I have found them to be professional and friendly.
If you're considering our building, please don't let the other poster scare you off - it's a great place with fantastic amenities (new boilers in each unit, great kitchen appliances, beautiful pre-war details and your own washer/dryer!!).
