I don't get it either. What's the surprise?

It they got this apartment for 749,000 they got a great deal considering the fact that A-2C (one floor below) is up for $739,000 and is practicly on the street (everyone can see in the apartment) and A-4C is up for $849,000 which is a difference of $100,000 for only one floor above. All of this is cautioned by the fact that I don't know what the "surprise" is. Maybe there is a reason this was priced at $749K and not something closer to $800K.

This must be some sort of trick to drum up traffic and comments! Ltjbukem, you are a bad bad man!

itjbukem,

Did you take a crap in one of the cabinets when the apartment was left unlocked inadvertently? You live in the building, don't you? If that is the surprise then that is not very nice. LOL.

And the 2d floor does not have the balconies (and it is directly above the retail space planned for building). Does anyone know what is planned for that space. Anyway, enough with the hype, what is the surprise . . . .

Four days of staying tuned later...

Did something not come to pass that was supposed to?

We all know the building history has been less than glowing. That said, is there a specific surprise or are you making a vague reference to the Scarano's (sp?) screw ups (which cannot be called surprises at this point)?

Despite Scarano's screwups, it is a nice building. He screwed himself (and the people who were going to buy the mezzanine apartments).

I really can't imagine what the surprise is. I know that the apartment is painted (in some not so great colors) and has probably had a lot of traffic since it was the model, but maybe there is some reason why Itjbukem has been silent.

June 11, 5:29,

I was recently told by somebody that it may be a bank, but I think that was just speculation because the area could use a bank and the big banks have been expanding in terms of branches.

I'm assuming at this point that we're never going to get an explanation of the cryptic "surprise" gimmick.
