Shooting at Chappelle Block Party venue
A man was shot at Gates and Downing, the exact place where Block Party took place. The NY Times has the briefing here.
We rode by on our bikes a few weeks ago and just a few blocks away, you'd do well to be careful where you tread (pun intended). As the bike partner pedaled thru on the $1000 mountain bike, our partner was confronted by a litany of expletives, ie. What the fuck are you doing, bitch?

I live right around the corner from the crime scene. My daughter (10) and I go to the video store there all the time. I've lived here since 1989 and it has always been safe, safer every year. The shooting was an aberration, imho.
As for the dis about the bike, I don't know--lots of yuppies on bikes in the nabe these days, more all the time.
