99 Gold Street progress
Here's a current look at the progress at the 99 Gold St condos, across from the Buddhist temple. The Developers Group has the listings. A quick peep shows a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 1072 square foot condo with irregular sized bedrooms asking $730K. Add to that about $470 in monthly maintenance and real estate taxes. Don't hurry- these aren't going anywhere...

really scary location with the rough projects just across the street and in full view. not only that, there are wrap around balconies (really fire escapes) that the owner/occupier can't use but allow anyone to basically check out any unit. security wise, it sucks. ) on top of it all, the place looks like it was designed for ft. lauderdale. all in all, a very strange building for a ghetto environment. and not cheap and wait till the lot across the street gets developed, no view either.
I checked these out. odd floorplans, but big and roomy if you've got the money. great kitchens & bathrooms too. but the location is flat-out terrible. when my wife and I left the building, a Corolla with tinted windows was creeping by slowly - the driver's side window cracked open a bit to reveal an angry-looking kid with a bandana wrapped around his face staring at us menacingly. he peeled out and sped toward the projects after giving us the once-over. uhhh, yeah. I'd live there. right.
Ive lived on gold between front and water (a 1/2 block way from these) for two years and watched this building go from vacant to this. Intersting comments from above. "rough projects"...check out our precincts crime stats then check out fort greene or even prospect heights...much worse. I considered these stats before buying there. I along with my fiancee have never experienced anything alarming or dangerous in this neighborhood ever. We come home at all hours and have only been accosted by few local beggars. So if "kids" (you migth as well have said black kids) scare you then maybe you should consider condos in scandanavia.
