New units at 541 Washington Avenue

Courtesy of the Wired New York Forum, a new rental project is going up right next to the Cathedral Mansions, in what was once the resident parking lot. (nb- where are they parking now?)
The project will be 66 units over 120,000 square feet.

The architects, Stephen B Jacobs Group are also responsible for some other Brooklyn projects, including the Boulevard East condos and the Dumbo Lofts marketed by Two Trees.

This new project only means the need for more infrastructure in terms of stores in the Fulton St. corridor and increased usage of the C train at Clinton-Washington.

When is this going to happen. The link you provided is old and there is no mention of the project on the architect's site Any new info on this? I think it would be great...

yeah i posted it on wired new york, they lost the parking lot due to taxes. the developer is from long island and is into doing strip malls and other retail properties he is serving as his own general contractor on the project, he picked up the site for 2 million.

r160s are due to arrive in late 06 and early 07, hopefully meaning an end to the 8-car C train and a return to 10-cars, which would more than help during rush hour at Clinton-Washington. the new trains are fact, but the line placement is still rumor...
