The Washington Condos off the market?

Tipped off by a few commenters, we also noticed that the Aguayo & Huebener site no longer has a listing for the Washington Condos. The Washington Condos website also no longer has prices for any of the units. Instead, they direct you to call their offices.

Anybody know anything??

I think the lack of pricing on the website is an A&H thing. They are also doing the facultyhouse condos down the street from the washington
which has no pricing on the website, www.facultyhousecondominium.com.

I think this is in line with their strategy to withold as much information as possible to get you to call. For the Faculty house condos they don't even specify a location other than Clinton Hill (BTW, it's the corner of St. James and Atlantic)

I don't know if their strategy works or not but I'm thinking not since the Washington still has 10+ units available and it's been how long?

I think this approach only alienates the buyer and is very self serving but maybe others feel otherwise.

That's funny I think The Washigton has done better than any other development in Brooklyn and they have raised prices 5 TIMES!! Do your homework before posting such nonsense!

Since A/H reads this blog, they should set the record straight as to what is going on. Obviously, there are concerned buyers at the Washington reading this thread. What's up Roz?

I disagree that they have done well with the washington. This project has been on the market for over a year. It was just recently that they got the website together.

Considering that they only sold 2/3 of the units in a year in which condos were selling like hotcakes I think they could have done better.

Actually from what I know, The units were never technically on the market and the 2/3 sold within the first 4 months. They have said they were waiting for a model apartment until they were really going to push the units. Let's see what happens when they have the grand opening. I want my brunh that I keep hearing about. By the way I think they have done a great job. My cousin bought at 57 Front street and the things Corcoran has been putting hime through is unbelivable. He's probably going to ditch DUMBO for The Washington

if they are posted on a website, aren't the units on the market?? Duh...

perhaps we should state that a&h is not *actively* marketing the units. this would mean no advertising in print, and online, no prices for any of the units. think of it as a teaser to the public.

and who knows, when they go sell them again, it may be at higher prices!

Actually its part of marketing a building. If the units are moving without the marketing program technically begining its a plus, especially if you can raise prices to meet the demand. The developer probably wanted to start pre-sales right away without a model apartment and figured an in house marketing push would satisfy his means to try to sell the apartments before the marketing program began. I'm eager to see the model apartment when it opens and see how the ads come out. Its great to see the building finally moving along!!

it's weird. the building initially had great word of mouth and sold itself and then everything sort of just stopped. all those 3 bedroom units with the front rounded corner are still for sale. what's up with those? they don't look too shabby with the two terraces and bathrooms.
i don't understand A/H. Even in their window on 7th. Ave. there's not a sign or picture regarding the Washington. Are they expecting the other buyers word of mouth to sell the remaining units as they most likely sold the initial ones? OK, then let's share the commissions. Yea, it's great that 2/3 have sold but I think that for the prices that are being asked, we should have seen some more taken off the market and in contract in the last 5-6 months.

great to see such discourse on the washington. those rounded C line units, i would think, would be a great seller. it gives the living space great light.

i think that when you initially see the units, the first thing you think is that pedestrians can look right into your unit, but hey, that's what window treatments are for, right?

It's very common for delays to happen in new condominiums. The wait is even longer when you buy pre-construction. Think of it as an initiation right. Delays should always be expected. Oh and to the poster that commented on Roz Huebener, my friend bought a house in Fort Greene through A&H and this Roz lady would call them up harassing them about how she came into contact with the agent and when her closing was supposed to be. She really is an awful woman, I’ve never heard anything but negative things about her. I also know someone that used to work for her and he told me all sorts of unethical stories about her. He actually wrote a letter to her partner about all the unethical things she had done while he worked there.

The Aquayo and the Huebener of A & H have had a competitive and contentious patnership for years. Most likely their lack of marketing that property is an in-house issue which will only be resolved when the patnership dissolves. Stay tuned for Aquayo & Associates and Huebener & Associates coming soon to your neighborhood.

I met Brendan Aguayo one time and he tried to tell me that I couldn't afford Dean Street Manor Condos, that I should go with the Washington condos because that was what he was doing. He was wrong about the prices at Dean Street, and probably felt lame for not having any access to them. Dean St is great; I would highly recommend the builder Katan Developers. They also built on Bergen between 4th and 3rd, and 2nd Street b/n 4th and 5th.
