Mrs. Salt and I noticed this frankenbuilding the other day. Its HUGE and way out of scale with everything else. I'm sure it will be 'luxury condos' like everything else.
I feel bad for the small townhouse that abuts the property. It is now dwarfed by this extension.
This property was on the market a while ago. It was nothing but huge open space used only for the owner to park his cars! It was nasty inside. Many developers made offers but unless you agreed to the owners terms ans what HE wanted you didn't get the building. So I guess whoever won is now making condos WITH a parking garage!
I walk by this every day, but you totally threw me with the "Diane T" reference - I kept thinking you meant the Thai restaurant under renovation next door. I guess I just don't think of Diane T as a landmark to describe anything on Bergen - now, if you'd said next to the Montessori school, then I'd have realized what you meant!
But yeah, it's bizarre looking.
