Brilliant idea at Brooklyn Properties' Select Condos

In a slowing market like the one we're in today, it's always a great idea to give the customer some level of customisation when buying their condos. This is something we had wished for and asked for (alas, to no avail) at the Washington but were summarily rebuffed. In Brooklyn Properties' new Select Condos at 102 St. Marks Place in Park Slope, buyers get a $3000 or $20000 credit towards selecting bathroom and kitchen fixtures. They can also supplement this budget with their own money if they were to want more expensive appliances.

Still, a budget of $20,000 for cabinets, countertops, backsplashes, appliances, sink, vanity and toilet spells one thing: Home Depot/Lowe's cheapness. But we figure most buyers would put as much as they could afford into it. The website says materials must deliver by 3 weeks so as to not delay closing.
