57 Front redux

The proverbial shit has hit the fan at 57 Front. Months after news broke that there was a catfight between the Walentas clan and Lev Boymelgreen concerning easements, there are now a few units on sale at Corcoran.

Without knowing the whole story, our presumption is that incensed buyers were upset that they would lose a window in one of their bedrooms, tried valiantly to get a break on their contract price, weren't able to get one, and most likely rescinded their contracts.

Now, some lucky buyers out there have the opportunity to buy their piece of the DUMBO pie. And what an opportunity it is - 970 square feet of living space for a sparse $580K! Take a look at the floorplan- that window in the study room doesn't really exist after all is said and done. The floorplans also curiously show 'permanent shelving' in the study room.

Go up four floors and you'll pay $650K for a 970 square foot loft with home studio.

Anyone who knows the juicy scoop, please comment! And we know you're out there, especially since the 57 Front yahoo group was spawned off of the commentary here.

a lot of buyers who were not in the affected apartments have also rescinded their contracts as well. at least half the bldg has backed out. it's likely buyers won't be able to close on their units this year.

yeah, ask corcoran and the developer and tell them not to BS you.

that's what this and other blogs are for - to level the playing field.

hope everything works out.
