Plethora of condos planned for Downtown Brooklyn

The Brooklyn Eagle reports on a whole bunch of new condominiums planned for the present and near future.

First up is the Bridge View Tower Condos at 189 Bridge St between Concord and Nassau Streets. I guess this can also be thought of as Vinegar Hill by some. An 18-story will rise here with 59 units, including 5 one-bedroom penthouse units.

Two other buildings will be rising at Johnson St and Flatbush Ave Extension and at Johnson and Gold St. They will be 22- and 40-stories, respectively. In addition, the first will have 170 condo units and the second will have 309 units. By all measures, this is a lot of units! Apparently, the sponsor will be the same one who developed the Toy Factory Lofts located right next to the second unit.

the people in the toy factory building are getting screwed. they never realized that their views would consist of housing projects and now two towers up to 40 stories. the developer sounds like a real shyster for being so secretive to the buyers at the toy factory. i'm sure he knew all along of his ultimate plans. today, though, it's about taking the money and to hell with anyone else's investments and quality of life.

how could they not know their views would consist of housing projects when it's right across the street? they've been there for years and they will remain there for years!?!

i'm talking about how the developer never mentioned that the two other towers would be built.
obviously , they knew about the projects. the best units faced away from them though and now will have zero views. that would piss me off if I bought in the building.

i think any prepared and informed buyer would do their best to find out who owns what parcels of land adjoining their condos, especially in today's real estate zeitgeist.
