Brooklyn doesn't have a monopoly on ugly construction

This should be of interest to the brownstoner.com crowd: A few samples of some Fedders/Friedrich buildings in Elmhurst, Queens. Note the great views from the balcony of the units in the upper left.
This seems to be some of the new construction trends for a lot of the immigrant communities dispersed among the 5 boroughs of New York City. Before you start hating, realize that a lot of these people are willing to park their money in some viable real estate that can serve as an investment for their hard-earned money. Many are not into marble mantels, working fireplaces, crown molding and original details.
