Dean Street Restaurant will have competition soon

The southeast corner of Dean Street and Underhill Avenue will soon have a new 'eating and drinking establishment,' continuing the nascent dining scene in Prospect Heights.

Located diagonally across from the newly-san-chef-Nate-Smith Dean Street Restaurant, this space has sat empty for the past four years at least, tempting the palates of the hordes of gentrifying yuppies moving to Prospect Heights.

New Dean Street restaurant already in trouble

Less than 2 months before opening, the chef of Dean Street, Nate Smith, has been purported to have left the restaurant. We got this news from the Dean Street facebook page. There was quick backlash, including:

hmm - dean street gets rid of their best and only asset - nathan smith? this place is sure to be the ordinary corner pub the owners envision it to be. way to fuck yourselves.

The owners fired the head chef after 1 month and are trying to make it seem like it was an amicable split. The food was the only thing this place had going for itself. Karma will even this all out in the end. Good luck to all the staff, I hope you find a restaurant that knows how to show their staff and customers respect.
