Oro Condos @ 306 Gold Street

The first of the Flatbush Ave. Extension condos has its' web presence, at orocondos.com. (Oro means gold in Spanish) Are these the condos that will eventually block the views of the people at the Toy Factory Lofts at 176 Johnson Street? If memory serves correct, they are. The Toy Factory buyers were sold a bag of rocks when told that nothing would be rising to their north.

It will be interesting to see what these condos sells at, considering the area is not a prime one. The Bridge View Condos are just a few blocks north towards the Manhattan Bridge.

Yup, I live there, and I can assure you it's the case. I can't speak for anyone else, but it certainly seems like the blocked view will be offset by the improvement in property value as the neighborhood gets nicer.

Currently, what you see when looking north is a lone deli where all sorts of "interesting" individuals gather at all times of the day and night (although they do have surprisingly decent burgers and wings). Only 7 of the 56 apts in the building are afforded that view. To the west, our view is of the Clocktower building. To the south, we'll be witnessing what Castimidiwhatevehisnameis will be erecting on Myrtle. To the East we have the Ingersoll houses where a nice young man on the fourth floor is kind enough to place his speakers in such a way that everyone in the neighborhood can catch up with the newest reggae, hip-hop, and R&B songs. I hear that they have been reduced to about 30% occupancy as the city looks to "renovate" the buildings. To put a short story long, I'm looking forward to the new development. Maybe there will soon be justification for my unreasonably hugh property taxes.
