Firehouse Condos a hit

The opening day of sales at the Firehouse Condos drew quite a crowd, judging from what we saw.

From the triplex townhouse with its' own street-level entrance to the second floor simplex with an expansive terrace, there were plenty of gawkers and potential buyers giving a once-over to the units.

Once we walked into the entrance worthy of a boutique hotel in Manhattan, one could feel that the developers and contractors put a little extra into these apartments.

One bathroom kept a sliver of glass window, which gave the smallish bathroom a bit of light. 6 of the 7 units have outdoor spaces, either connected to the apartment, or in the case of the apartment above, you share a roofdeck with another unit on your floor. We also noticed that while there were apartments named 2A and 2B, the units aren't technically on the same floor. They were separated by a half flight of stairs. This is a boon to the privacy-seekers.

The countertops in the kitchen above are Caesar stone. A Jenn-Air fridge and a Bosch dishwasher are also standard equipment.

Prices range from $495K for a 712 square foot one bedroom to $989K for a 1912 square foot triplex apartment.

Wasn't it a mad house? Some of the nicest apartments we've seen. We took an offering plan for 3B.

Any thoughts about the developer, hard to get info on them. Also what do you think about the area, empty lot next door?

the offering plan is for 495K

Jaime, are you going forward with 3B?

technic realty is the developer, right? haven't heard of them before, but thta doesn't mean much, as i'm not really up to date on developers.

the area is decent if you don't mind the possibility of being down the street from the atlantic yards project.

the empty lot next door: caveat emptor . check out what the FAR is for this lot. you could wind up having your lot line windows blocked, is my opinion.

i know when i was at the open house, at least one buyer had peggy explaining who owned it, what might get built on it, etc.
