Ft. Greene Sports Club to turn into Crunch

The Fort Greene Sports Club at 691 Fulton will soon turn into a Crunch fitness location. The Brooklyn Eagle reports that Marc Tascher and the private equity firm Angelo, Gordon & Co. has acquired Crunch Fitness.

Tascher had already owned the Ft. Greene club and the Park Slope Sports Club. Soon, the gym will be rebranded and the equipment will be upgraded.

Wow!!! I have to use the exclamation marks because I don't think the gravity of this is being put out there.

Crunch doesn't just open in any neighborhood. This is bigger than almost anything next to the new BAM structure, and the Mall. We can officially expect one of the corners nearby to be scooped up by Starbucks within the next 6 months. And once Starbucks is here, well, that's all she wrote for sure. Color Fort Greene, unaffordable...

crunch hasn't wasted any time in rebranding the fgsc. there were banners outside on the facade already tonight and inside. i also noticed a lot more cars on fulton, which is likely a sign of more customers inside the gym.
