15+ story building to rise at South Portland/Fulton

Tipped off by Brownstoner, we've learned that there is to be a new 190 foot tall, 80,000 square foot mixed use tower at South Portland and Fulton. The building, according to Scarano, will be constructed on a currently vacant lot.

To us, that means the lot on which Habana Outpost now stands. I guess Sean from Habana Outpost must've sold that lot for a pretty penny. This is big news.

Is there a community board hearing to discuss such a disruptive architectural, city planning change? How many families? How much will it disrupt services on that corner? Subway? Bus? traffic? Will businesses have to close while they build like Cafe Lafayette?

Oh lord! What a piece of crap. And what a *tall* piece of crap. And it literally will be in my back yard. Do you know where I can get more info on this project (couldn't find it on Scarano's flash-filled site)?

I think it looks cool. But I can't imagine it in that neighborhood, on that corner.
