Washington Condos appliances

Since no one at Aguayo & Huebener has been able to confirm which appliances have been picked out, I'm going to give a stab at it via the pictures that were provided earlier this weekend. I don't have any pictures of the microwave, so I can't help with that.

  1. Refrigerator: GE Profile Energy Star Stainless side-by-side Refrigerator with dispenser model PSS23MSSSS; Price ranges from $2149 to $2399 depending on model.
  2. Gas oven: GE Profile Free Standing Self-Clean Stainless Gas Range model JGB900SEKSS; $1349
  3. Dishwasher: GE Profile Built-In White Dishwasher with Stainless Interior model PDW8800JWW; price $1029
Anyone know why I've asked at least 3 times what appliances have been picked out and I haven't been able to get a definitive answer? If unavailable from the developer, wouldn't it be simple enough to go to the Condos and copy down the model numbers?

Dude, aren't you in contract to buy one of these units?

I don't know how this pre-construction thing works but maybe you can help me out. How can you agree on a price for something when these details are not in the contract? What if they decided to screw you and buy the cheapest crap that they can? How are you protected?

I was under the impression that all of these details are spelled out at the time of contract so that you will know what you are paying for. I guess it doesn't work this way, can you tell us how it does?

Thanks

i can help you out. in the offering plan, they have a list of appliances for which they'll provide. but the exact models are not set in stone. the developer only has to provide similar cost appliances or better. therefore, the buyer is protected. a&h just never could tell the buyer what the exact appliances were.

ah, thanks for the clarification. It's just really amazing that you get so little info on the progress of this while they have your money.

YOu would probably have to pick up the phone and call your broker to get an update, otherwise what's in the offering plan is what your getting. I have bought 4 condos in Brooklyn from various agencies mostly A&H and Corcoran, and its the same whomever you purchase from, they give you an estimated date of completion and that's really it, if you want an update you should call and ask your broker, if that doesn't work then you should speak with the managing/principle broker. I'm tired of all this whining, you decided to buy the place so don't place the blame solely on the broker, this is a crazy market if you didn't buy someone else surley would have, why don't you take some responsability for your purchase and ask the brokers, it looks like the kitchens are just going in so what kind of update do you want? Every time a wire is sprayed or a tile is placed you want an update? Try to be a little more educated andnot like that moron big bald man or whatever. Place does look great though, wish I bought one.

If you would call and ask for an update I'm sure you would get one, take responsability for your purchase, it looks like the kitchen just went in, otherwise do you wan an update everytime a tile is laid or a peice of sheetrock goes up. I fyou have purchased a new condo before, you get a prospectus which lists in detail everything that you are getting and you get an estimated time of closing generally that's it, I have purchased 4 in Brooklyn from various agencies as well as A&H and this is the norm.

k.firpa, hey, no one ever said real estate was clean and innocent. i can't control what my readers are spurred to do or say. this is big bucks we're dealing with-- people's savings and blood sweat and tears have gone into these apts. the buyer deserves something. and as for the comment on going into a construction site and snapping pics being irresponsible? that's nothing. i consider ppl dropping $600/sq ft on prospect pl between grand/classon irresponsible, or $800/sq ft for some crappy loft in williamsburg or $900/sq ft for some dumbo lofts, in a neighborhood where it's about to be flooded with a couple hundred units in the next few years. plus if we were the recipients of spectacular service from a&h, there'd be no need for this blog, would there? you think these ppl haven't tried calling a&h?

Call me what you like...ill express myself how i choose. If you had read earlier posts, you would know A&H has performed poorly from the beginning of the transaction (telling me false/wrong info, quoting wrong prices) up through and until now, which manifests itself in their inadequate marketing of a something my wife and I have invested a substanial amount in. If not for the substantial value available in the complex at the time of our purchase, i would have specifically NOT bought BECAUSE of A&H. I don't expect anything from them because they suck, but wouldn't you think i called, multiple times for info? As for a few curse words, take a moment from bible study and look at society. People curse...get over it, loser. As to my dick size, bring your girl around and let her check it out, im sure she won't mind. And im sorry im not interesting enough for you, but im sure find some interesting people out there...there are a LOT of other dorks on the internet!!!

Hmmmm, seems like another broker bought A&H's listing as is pissed. I've never heard anyone question the abilities of A&H. As far as I know they have marketed more buildings in Brooklyn thatn anyother firm. I always see their signs! I guess if they sucked they wouldn't have been in business for 25 years.... Your a disguntled moron, I wouldn't want anything to do with you either, and I actually work for Douglass Elliman!!
