Revitalization of the Roanoke in Ft. Greene

Our beat reporter, who has been a 20+ year resident of Ft. Greene, has told us that this apartment building at the northeast corner of South Oxford and Lafayette has been through its' ups and downs, mirroring the changing fortunes of the neighborhood. In its' more infamous era, menacing drug dealers used to have run of the house at the Roanoke. More often than not, their luxury cars would be double parked outside and they would literally flex their muscles and intimidate their neighbors by lifting weights on its' stoop. All manner of narcotics would be sold from this house.

These days, it seems some developer has cleaned house, converting these into 'luxury' condominiums. Take this with a grain of salt, as we all know that $450K barely buys you a one bedroom in this part of town these days. But as this craigslist ad states, these are 'flawless' apartments in the 'most sought after building' in Ft. Greene.

the floor plans make it hard to visualize how the apartments look. anyone who has had a look, please let us know. i also wonder about the quality of the renovation.
