The NY Times released an incredibly detailed map of every single homicide in NYC since 2003. A google mash up provides incredible detail. At left is a screenshot of the Prospect Heights/Clinton Hill area.

Prospect Heights - new hipster outpost?

The NY Times online edition views Prospect Heights as the new hipster outpost, along with a slide show.

Very interesting news. At left is a shot of the bar called Barrette. Other places mentioned include Red Lipstick, Joyce Bakeshop and of course, Franny's.

Dining speakeasy 's

The Dining section of the NY Times has an article today about restaurants not located in traditional venues, ie they're located in someone's house. The article mentions Sara Newberry, a cookbook editor who lives in Prospect Heights, and sometimes has 10 friends over for dinner who each pay $40-50 bucks for her and her friends to cook.

Very similar to Coach Peaches, the original Fort Greene speakeasy we wrote about over 3 years ago.

NYT profiles Clinton Hill, but uses Fort Greene photo?!

Today's Real Estate section profiles Clinton Hill in their "Living In" series, but the picture they used is blatantly in Fort Greene. To be exact, it's a photo of the northern side of Lafayette Avenue between Adelphi and Clermont. A faux pas, for sure.
