Aguayo & Huebener in Scarano partnership

355 Warren, aka Tao, is a new condo designed by Scarano Architects. As expected, this project includes duplex units with mezzanines. As well, Aguayo & Huebener are marketing this one also.

Units are all duplexes, as far as we can tell. Square footage ranges from 815 square feet to 904 square feet, for $559K to $619K. Sounds affordable, doesn't it? Many units have outdoor space and mezzanine storage units.

Scarano officially famous

Via curbed, we found out today that the irascible architect Robert Scarano now has his own wikipedia page.

Of course, of note:

At the Washington Condominium in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the City objected to mezzanines with ceiling heights greater than five feet (the limit for mezzanine). The developer added raised plywood floors to lower the ceiling height.^[8] When critics charged that buyers would easily rip out the retrofits to gain access to the full-height of the space, the City held up the Certificate of Occupancy until the floors were rebuilt with concrete.

Of course, we know the Washington Condominium is in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. The wikipedia entry fails to mention that the architect has a penchant for visiting Brooklyn real estate weblogs, such as brownstoner and onehansonplace, and making aggressive comments attempting to clear his name and firm of all wrongdoing. Only, after being emasculated by the New York DOB, his despicable habits have, for the most part, ceased.

Sliver of a condo on Fulton and Waverly

In a testament to the accuracy of computer renderings of condos, we present exhibit A at far left.

This narrow sliver of a building on the south side of Fulton between Waverly and Washington is a Scarano project. At near left is an actual photo taken recently. Pretty close, huh?
