I heard from someone who works at the Greene Grape wine shop that the provisions store is scheduled to open on January 9th and will have a butcher, a fish monger and a cheese shop.
i couldn't believe it when I finally checked the price of some bottles of wine I had bought at greeene grape at other shops around town ..... 3 to 4 bucks more money for each. no wonder they can afford to open a wine store in Manhattan and this new place. I can't imagine what the prices will be for meat, fish and cheese.
Actually, i find their prices to be very reasonable. two of their wines have become our go to bottles for everyday drinking and they are $8.50 a pop. In general, they are pretty comparable to the other places in the area.
The Greene Grape Provisions has arrived just in the nick of time. This area is in desperate need of well selected, fresh and organic gourmet food. The owners have a great sense of selection and price from what I've experienced in their wine store. Dropping by for dinner tonight to check it out.
I heard the Greene Grape Provisions store will have fresh edibles and an incredible coffee bar. It's about Time - we have needed this!!!!!

Please lower your fish prices. I believe that you will have more business. At the level they are now I might as well continue to dine out or go to Citarella or the Saturday market for oysters.
