Unsold and overpriced at the Cathedral Mansions

The imposing structure at the NW corner of Atlantic and Washington is the Cathedral Mansions. Over a year ago, we went to see this unit, a large, but oddly-laid out triplex with 1300 square feet of space. The asking price was $450K. The owner assured us that she didn't need to use a broker since she was sure she could sell it herself.

Today, we find this same listing, but devoid of any furniture, being sold for $565K on Corcoran.

that looks like a dog of a unit. the stairs up to the balcony are treacherous (probably illegal) and where are the windows??

the stairs go up to the loft space. i don' think it's illegal.

there are windows in the bedroom and living room. the rec room (basement) doesn't have any windows. the windows that do exist are nice arched church-like windows.

I believe that's the NE corner. I love this building -- it's the former Catherdral Prep boys' school (seminary). The apartments are gorgeous, but given the space, some have rather odd layouts. It's also a condo, which explains the higher price vs. a co-op. I'm sure Corcoran will get, if not asking, than close to it.

The C train is on the corner -- the only problem is the Big Yellow or whatever warehouse across the street on the SW corner of Atlantic. A bit of an eyesore.
